CSSE is a separate exam format from GL — different paper style and question types. 10 of the 11 selective schools share the CSSE consortium test (Paper 1: English + VR, Paper 2: Maths) via one shared registration. Chelmsford County High School for Girls is the exception — it sets its own FSCE-based entrance exam with separate registration and is NOT part of CSSE. Colchester Royal Grammar and Chelmsford County High are the most competitive.
